Hon. William Alexander Scott
Hon. William Alexander Scott is the PLP Candidate in Constituency 24, which is Warwick South East. His political career that spans some 27 years was capped when he was chosen as the first PLP Minister of Works & Engineering.

Mr. Scott has proven over and over to be an able and most effective Minister with his management of the millions of dollars of public funds for the multitude of personnel, programs and projects that fall within the ambit of his varied portfolio. In short, he is tasked with the maintenance, management and construction of Bermuda's public infrastructure.

Mr. Scott's parliamentary career began in 1985, when former Opposition Leader Dame Lois Browne-Evans appointed him to represent the PLP in the Senate. In 1989 he became Opposition Leader in the Senate.

Mr. Scott's political acumen stems from a strong sense of justice and social responsibility, and his belief in Bermuda and conviction that qualified Bermudians are willing and able to chart the success of their country. In 1978 he demonstrated this commitment to both country and countrymen when he distinguished himself as one of the five members of the Pitt Royal Commission that investigated the root causes of the 1977 riots.

His first term in the House began in 1993 and he has since served the constituents of Warwick East with vigor, respect and sincerity. Nationally, he has raised issues on the floor of the House of Parliament that would not have been made public but for his insight and determination.

As a founding member of the original Big Brothers organisation of Bermuda, Alex Scott understands the value of solid moral guidance. His own family life is a beacon of strength and love.

Mr. Scott and his wife Olga (of thirty-one years) have two children a daughter, Mrs. Robyn Eve, and son William Lawrence Scott.
